Secure Circuit against Attacks by Advanced Electromagnetic Fault Injection

The attacks by injection of faults are an extremely powerful technique to extract from secrecies (key of coding, intellectual property, etc) of an integrated circuit. Twenty years of research on the subject led to the development of robust protections against the optical injections by Laser. Unfortunately, the attackers adapted, and now use platforms of injection of faults containing electromagnetic impulses. The incurred risks of security are all the more great as the implementation of this kind of injection is much simpler and much less expensive than the injection by Laser, which puts it close to attackers at the modest means, and thus more. Also, to cope with this new threat, the industrial and academic leaders of the design of countermeasures to the physical attacks gathered around project CSAFE+ to develop new solutions.
