Optimized wireless IP collection networks.

Mobile telecom networks are seeing a significant increase in the bit rate transported behind the base stations (WiMAX, HSDPA, HSUPA, 4G …) and very variable traffic (for example the migration of populations between the day at the office and the evening at home) causing traffic to switch from one base station to another. These developments push operators to optimize their collection network both in terms of investment costs and energy and operating costs.

The RAISOM project proposes to develop software tools allowing this optimization of wireless IP collection networks of mobile operators (WiMAX, 3G, 4G …), in particular:

Determine optimal radio link configurations

Propose appropriate routing algorithms

Give the network administrator a decision-making aid by establishing the necessary traffic measurements, by constructing the scenarios of possible evolutions and by proposing the possible choices of optimization.
