VIPEER

Ingenierie of intra-domain video traffic based on the paradigms of Peer-to-Peer.

With the proliferation of video services, and the increasing use of high-definition coding, an important and ever-increasing share of Internet traffic comes from video services. The main goal of this project is to provide methods for a network operator to implement traffic engineering tools to explicitly control video streams. In fact, VIPEER seeks to provide intra-domain solutions to the problem CCN (content-oriented networks): VIPEER is based on a collaboration between a conventional CDN (content delivery network) and a distributed CDN (dCDN), which is an overlay network controlled by the network operator using paradigms from P2P networks. An SME and several manufacturers already active in the development of peer-to-peer video solutions is a partner of the project.
