HOPE

Hierarchically Organized Power/Energy management

Continuation of project HELP, HOPE aims at developing an approach equipped for the design and the checking of Ploughshare, SiP or 3D-IC low consumption while being pressed on standards OSCI TLM 2.0, IP-XACT and UPF. The aspect hierarchisation makes it possible to anticipate the problems of management in consumption and temperature posed by SiP and 3D-IC. To early define in the process of design a controllable architecture in consumption, to check the coherence of the power states with the functional behaviors, to validate the embarked software and its interactions with the power management, to evaluate the dissipated power and the temperature, are major stakes with respect to the increasing complexity of the systems. If it is possible to describe, to synthesize on level RTL via standard UPF of architectures “power”, there is no equivalent on level TLM whereas this level allows fast simulations, adapted with the validation by uses boxes.
